GPR falls on its face in the chop

Took my triple piper out yesterday to do some tuning. So far I have got it to spin 7640

When I hit some lite chop and the pump comes unhooked and then rehooks it falls on its face and then about throws me over the bars!!!

I have an advent cdi set at 8500 on the rev limit and running the yam67 curve and the snap set at 56. I have not tried any other settings yet, wanted to get some opinions first.

Is this a rev limit issue where the pv's are closing and the boat falls on its face? any help would be appericated Thanks

...issue where the pv's are closing?

No it is the stock CDI that does this, not the Advent.

To keep the ski hooked up you can

    - step the OEM sponsons

    - shim the trim tabs down

    - shim the rear of the (Riva or R&D) rideplate down or simply use the stock rideplate

    - use a XL1200 (3 degree) pump nozzle

    R&D trim tabs

    Riva ride plate

    1200 single bar grate moded

    Solas Concord 13/19

    Riva sponsons

When I say lite chop I mean I go to the end of the lake and turn around and go to the other end and run into my own boat wake, it didnt take much at all for it to come unhooked and fall flat on its face.

    Lightbulb ??????????????

    Hey There...

I'd be checking electrical connections to the ignition system and the battery..!!

Next I'd be thinking about the fueling..!! in-case the bouncing around is affecting it..(long-shot..??)

Could be as simple as a bad earth connection..???

    Good luck with it partner..

When you say the boat falls on its face do you mean the motor looses power or the hull unhooks and then digs in?

The motor looses power. It seems like when it comes unhooked and then rehooks the motor looses power for a second and then takes off again, until it comes unhooked again and then it happens. It's like to motor is cutting in and out. Like it shuts down and then takes off again.

It didnt do it in lite chop I guess. It was when I went down one side of the lake and then turned the other way and hit my own boat wake. It didnt take much for it to come unhooked. When I hit my own(or anyone elses) rollers.

I guess its hard to explain. I didnt have a problem anywhere else. Just in this area.

I would also lower that rev limit to just a couple of hundred over what you expect it to turn unless you like replacing cranks.

I'd double check the rev limiter setting, it sure sounds like what happens when limiter is set too tight and the unhooking over-revs the too low setpoint.

sound like fuel delivery problem. which carb are you using? check your fuel pick up and fuel line as well.
