how big are you talking. If you go off shore you realy want a
dependable ski. If you break down where we go your in trouble.
You can see what im talking about in my pict. On my profile ablum. Good luck

That HULL style is good, but you need power...thats only a little 580cc unit, so MAYBE 55hp if you are lucky....Jump up to atleast a 96 XP, or 97-99 SPX. They have the 800cc 110hp motor in them, and they are solid!

Yes, that will be a great wave jumper. Prop it for low and mid-range.

Ah the old dual carb 580. Good wave jumper, it is light a has reasonable response and speed(plus you can run it hard all day on one 8 gallon tank of gas). Speed is not really there it is a mid 40's boat and you can bolt everything available on to it an you won't beat low 50's on that motor. But that motor is bullitproof, keep it oiled and gassed it will go for damn near forever.

If you do buy it bolt on some later model sponsons(94 and up I believe) I did that mod to my old 93 and it turned that baby into a carving machine.

if you prop it for low end out of the hole power it will be a jumpin machine!!!!
get sponsons from danny, or off a newer X-4 hull.
nt a speed demon, but REAL light and nimble. better ski would be 96 xp or 97-99 spx, but this hull is the same and is even lighter than the others mentioned above.
put in a bilge pump. get a tow rope just in case. maybe an intake grate for better hookup in the rough stuff.
    it will FLY!!!!
also its a 2smoke so real easy to maintain, and if you injest water... oops!!! just pull the plugs turn it over a few times, fire it up and ride away okokok its not quite that easy, but almost!

The ski posted by the OP isn't an X-4. The hulls are different on the 800 skis.

You gotta put WD-40 in the cylinders too too(sorry Fluid Film guys but those solvents and VOCs are like candy to two strokes)

I would go after a 96 xp or a 97+ spx. Those are the best wave jumpers in the business. I know. Ive had a few of them.

Gorilla03 has one for sale and hes reasonable. check his out.
