Getting Head!!! haha
Ok so the Dirty Jersey season comes to an end... My engine is bone stock with 110 hours running a consitant 70mph on speed runs. I have a few questions and need advice and opinions. Im planning on 40mm sonic boom throtle bodies from Ross, Vf3 reeds, a 3 degree keyway, and a head. Is 110 hours nearing top end rebuild time??? It runs strong but Id like to make it through next season. What head should I use with the mods I have listed in my sig. at the bottom??? Am I leaving anything out I should be doing? My prop is uncut and costing me rpms but im thinking the engine mods will compensate. My rideplate is stock due to the "never flat" Jersey ocean... I will say that I WANT TO GO FASTER!!!!!!!

That single bar intake is costing you some speed and rpms, those were intended for CC racing.
REINFORCE THAT TUNNEL!!
No need to rebuild yet, 250-300 hours on those pistons are very doable.
Other suggested mods sound good and should yeild great improvements.

Hello INK, pm Jims1300 and he can take care of the cylinder head for you much cheaper than an aftermarket head.. Looks like you have the right combo planned out. With all those mods you may end up needing a 14-21 or 22 bend on the impeller.. Jims1300 can help there also. Just let me know when you are ready for your throttle body mods.. Thanks, Ross

Ink, for what it is worth I have an 06 with the following mods:
Milled stock head by Jims1300
Riva free flow
1200 double bar grate
Sealed pump shoe
Old style Riva plate (NO FF MOD)
Stepped stock sponsons
I have a prop coming that should be here to do some testing this weekend. If you did what you are planning on doing our boats would be almost identical. If I dont have any problems this weekend I will report back with numbers so you will have something to compare to.

Don't you recut the squish? Or is it so wide at factory specs milling it down brings it into the performance world.
