    Touchdown!!!!!!!!!!! :(~

well BOB1988's S3 wheel has had a touchdown and the ONLY thing we can see amiss looks to be the shaft and the gear & wahser seat as it has come loose from the shaft! the touchdown is NOT BAD BAD but the wheel is JUNK as it has REMOVED about a 1/16" from the TOP of each blade at the base about 1/4" in from the OUTER EDGE all the way around! what i am curious about is can the gear and washer seat SLIPPING on the shaft make this happen! it DOESNT LOOK as thought it slipped around the shaft but it came off when Bob says he disassembled it! it seems as though it would have to be SET to go back on as it WONT slide on! as well there is a hole through the washer and gear seat and a hole HALF way into the shaft as though they should align with one another and have a metal holding PIN??? i CAN T see the SHAFT SLIPPING BACK AND FORTH but i believe thats whats happened even though it has a NUT at each end of the shaft and they were tight! then again im just a REDNECK HILBILLY IDIOT so any REAL MECAHNICS that might have some REAL suggestions or REAL answers would be GREATLY APPRECIATED! thanks!

Reid, i wonder if with little smooting of the edges it would still pull better boost than the stock wheel.

I wouldnt consider it toast. Call Riva and see if they can send it off for a re balance. I have heard of people using B-kit Charges even after a touchdown and working just fine.

It's pretty common to see a small touchdown like you have there. There is nothing wrong with that impeller. Install a fresh supercharger rebuild kit, reinstall the impeller and call it a day!

    GOOD morning everybody!

    question:
don`t the closer tolerances between the sc wheel and the sc housing with these aftermarket wheels help create the boost levels you see with them?
I mean look at the clearance of the stocker, there is lots of room between the wheel and housing where-as when I had the Riva wheel the fins were much closer.
so is metal was scrubbed off the wheel, would there be a decrease in boost, even if it`s not significant?...PR...

1 To me the touch down is very slight bearing play you all know my take on the bearings

2 The shaft seperating is heat induced or bad part
