    stage ? vs HP#

if a stock rxp is 215 w about 207 to the prop...forget speeds...although relative but also has alot to do with set up....what are the hp gains from say a stage1 to a stage 3 then through in rude charger to the turbo skis and include how much boost it took...jet ski power is expensive

    Stock 4tec SCIC = 209 HP @ 8100 RPM and @ 7.3 psi boost
    Riva Stage 1 = 210 HP @ 8100 RPM and @ 8 psi boost
    Riva Stage 2 = 229 HP @ 8100 RPM and @ 8.8 psi boost
    Riva Stage 3 = 296 HP @ 8581 RPM and @ 11.1 psi boost

Now trying to assume HP with add-ons such as the Rude SC, etc. becomes guess work since no one has actually dyno'd all the different combinations of setups. Obviously if you put the Rude on a stock machine versus a Stage 3 you will see different HP gains because of factors such as injectors, intake, IC, etc. So it all depends. Now as far as the turbo skis go I really don't know. It depends on how they tune and such. From what I've heard it's capable of 450 HP when running a setup that allows you to maximize the turbo's potential.

    According to Riva:

    Stock: 209 hp @ 8100 rpm
    Stage 1: 212 @ 8000 rpm
    Stage 2: 230 @ 8000 rpm
    Stage 3: 296 @ 8600 rpm

    According to Rotax Racing:

    Riva Stage 3: 256 hp @ 8400 rpm
    RR B-kit: 276 hp @ 8500 rpm
    RR C-kit: 310 hp @ 8750 rpm

There's not a whole lotta' turbo ski's out there. I've heard 350, 400, and 450 hp from turbo ski's, but they are rumors. With the right turbo, an owner with big cajones, aftermarket EFI, and alot of boost (30 psi) on race gas, I can definitely see where 525 hp is achievable, but would be near the limit.

I love the way u think....and agree, but I have been inside these motors and u will never sustain 500hp for enough time for the dyno to finish sampling the pull. I would like to see it happen in person, but would not be too close to it, let alone ride it BTW, it sucks when your engine fits "loose" in a 5-gallon bucket

I've never seen the inside of one, but with all the folks making 215 - 300 hp and never hearing of a block, crank, rod, or piston failure, they must be fairly stout.

I talked to Mark Underwood yesterday and we where actually talking about this the 215 on a dyno puts out 195 hp @ 8000 rpm and the new X puts out 235 HP at 8100 rpms. The #'s came from Franco ( Rotax Racing ) The #'s are definitely exaggerated.
