how would you go about pressure testing the case/intake on an 1300r efi non pv? Trying to find a weird hissing air sucking sound.

    Check you pm.............

You can buy a pressure test kit from Lowell.Take the stinger off and the U shaped pipe, leaving the exhause manifold on.There is a block off plate that fits on there, were the 3 into 1 is.There are 3 plates for the intake side.Use a bike hand pump and only go up to 5psi.Then listen for leaks.I use soapy water and spray wherever there is a gasket.

wouldn't it be easier (on the intake side) to simply pull the throttle bodies an insert plugs? Easier to use the hose clamps rather than unbolting all those bolts?

Yes it is. I have made some plugs to put into the throttle body "boots" out of PVC parts and Lowell has made some plastic type plugs for his kit just for the EFIs.

Ive ridden his ski and heard the noise, it is a little louder and a bit different than the normal air intake noise these create. Not sure why, and if im not mistaken he is now having some pretty big rpm fluctuations at WOT, in the area of + or - 200 rpms... We decided that checking the case seal was a good starting point..

I was asking because after riding Elli's and Aubrey's skis with the mod done the air intake noise was much louder. If the front box is modded the noise is even more pronounced.

A + or - of 200 rpms screams something is very wrong. How steady is the idle?
