What rpm do you get the best fuel economy?
I was just wondering at what rpms do the 4-techs modified and stock get the best fuel economy?

Seems like a lot has been said for the speed of a gprxp, and as sure as a bear chits in the woods I'll bet it gets at least 15% better mileage at at the same relative speeds. These things scrub off too much hp at speed, and this is where all the fuel is going. I know there is a line between handling and speed, but the line can't be that thin.

I seem to get the best fuel range if I keep the atom smasher between 5-6k.

I also say 5-6 but i also think your consistancy on the trottle is key. When ure on and off the throttle through chop like people who dont know how to ride are it wastes a lot of gas (flooor it..........slow down.................floor it........slow down) The more smooth you are with the throttle the more gas ull save. This is just what i've noticed.

If I can add a question to this as well, I'm concerned about how far I can go on a tank. So if I put in and want to ride a long distance - how long can I go? This will give me some idea as to planning gas stops along the way as I am wanting to cruise Puget Sound in Washington. So it could be swelly (if that's a word) but at 15 gallons has anyone averaged how many miles that equates to? And have people found the modified RXPs to be more fuel efficient when not WOT?
