shorty waterbox install tips
any ideas on how to simplify the installation?
by installation i mean disconnecting the thru-hull from the exhaust tip, installing the shorty box's pipe onto a longer coupler and tightening the clamps, all without removing the inner opas blockoff plate..

When i install mine i tighten the coupler on the waterbox exit and then leave the clamp that goes over the exhaust tip semi loose.
I then place the waterbox in the hull and then stick it on the exhaust tip and push it as far back as possible.
Then i drop the J pipe into the waterbox inlet. Then line the J pipe up with the exhaust manifold and then pull the waterbox forward until it's in place. I tighten the exhaust manifold to J pipe clamp and then reach back and tighten the exhaust tip clamp.
Install the temp sensor, and the connect the wire.
Either plug off the hose that originally went to the exhaust tip or route the hose to a 3/8 bypass fitting.
Oh, and do not install the original rubber insulation that was on your stock waterbox onto the modded waterbox

what do I do now that I don't have a longer coupler than what came with the Riva thru-hull kit??

These guys below have it but 12" is order only at $24 and takes a week. Email them the order.
If you don't have a little guy to crawl into the hull to help you the only way I know to do it is to take the block off plate off. I will have to take my left RE Blockoff off because I used that whole to install the riva thru-hull exhaust. This time I will turn it so I can reach it from the tunnel blockoff which will be much easier to work on. If I lie on the side of the ski I can get to the rear but I can't see so it's a feel job. I'm 6-2, 225#. Anyway, I'm going to bite the bullet and take my RE Blockoff off again!!

I think I figured it out..I put a 2.5" joiner (I know, it's not 2.75"..) in between the riva thru-hull coupler and waterbox pipe. I'm now in the process of joining it to the coupler that's attached to the waterbox pipe. The only problem is I can't position and tighten the clamp at the same time without another person.

I have a link to silicone hose website....do I use their blue hose...what size and what length do I need....do I need anything else...clamps etc..?
