Thread: Code P0544

06 RXT threw P0544 code after launching. Ski was then ridden for 3 hours.
Code states Exhaust Temp sensor.
Can it be more anything more than that?
PS: friend's ski.

My buddy just had P0544 and P0546 codes last weekend...it was a partially kinked EXTERNAL I/C waterline...simple fix...hope that is your case!

po546 is exhaust gas temp switch shorted to ground ...sound like possibly laying in bottom of ski in water

No work has been done on the ski. The last time the ski was ridden not fault codes were present, fresh water. The ski was launched in salt water and shortly after the ski was put in the water it happened.
Its my friend ski. Unfortunately I wasn't there at the time it happened. Knowing the tow vehicle and the ramp I am starting to wonder if he didn't back up far enough and drive to drive the ski off the trailer, heat up the exhaust and damaged the sensor or causedthe sensor to throw the code.
Is that a valid hypothesis?
Thanks to everyone sharing their ideas and experieince.
