GPR1300 Piston - check it out
what you guys think of this piston? Ski still ran up top pretty damn good with this piston working on it, but on take off you could here it bogging real bad. I am surprised that the piston was still running and this is the only damage it did. Messed up the piston and messed up the exhaust port of the cylinder. Half the ring was missing, the other half was on top. The bottom ring is still there.
The other two pistons look on the verge of lean. This is the rear piston. No damage to head or crank. I am assuming that the chunk of exhaust and ring went out the exhaust as I can not find any pieces or chuncks at the bottom of the cases. In fact, ran a paper towel through there and came up with a clean towel that had some fuel oil mix, but thats it. No pieces of metal or rings, nada.
Sending the cylinder off to Millenium for a repair job, hope they can fix this cylinder, Kurt was a nice guy on the phone and reassured me that they could fix it, we'll see.

PM sent back, whatcha think it is Rich? hahahaha.
I know what caused it, just trying to see if anyone can come up with what happened,
and yes very lucky that it was limited to that, the head is spotless, I got very lucky in a way, I'll explain the story when someone can figure out what happened.

Was the cause related to your rpms always staying the same no matter what changes you did? That piston looks like many others on this site....

Too lean, piston gets too hot at exhaust port and starts melting. Piston starts to seize/melt, ring gets caught on exhaust port and all hell breaks loose.

Voodoo you are correct. Believe it or not, the part of the ring I lost was on the opposite side of the exhaust port. The other half of the ring (which was towards the exhaust port) was still on the piston, hahahaha.
Now you ready to hear what caused it.
TOWING a piece of shit rxp who ate up his supercharger impeller. I shouldn't have towed him with my setup, fortunately thats all the damage I had done, so I can live with it.
