just a question
Has any body found any gains from knife edging the ride plate, and sharpening the intake grate?

Knife edging the ride plate can't hurt. I did it because I realized significant gains during my "go fast" runabout days. Gained something like 2mph on my 22ft. Wellcraft. The rule of thumb was, if you are 70+mph (and who would of thought this would ever apply to PWC's) then the hull would benefit from knife edging.
I can't quantify any gain on my Seadoo, but I couldn't stand looking at that radiused trailing edge
However, it's been proven time and again... DON'T knife edge the intake grate!

Mine is knife edged and i didnt see any gain from it.
You definately dont want to sharpen the grate. The leading edge must be round. Just like on an airplane wing
