SS wear ring freezer method ?
Can the new SS wear ring be installed using the freezer method ? Is there any noticeable differences after installing the SS one compared to the plastic oem one ?

just put the ss ring in the freezer the night before you are going to try and install it. it will drop right in....
the ss will not give any speed but it will stand up to sticks and such better. the drawback is you have to have your prop redone every year or so. but it is better than replacing the plastic wear ring every 10-15 hours.

Personnally i just remove and turn around my OEM wear ring to the other side (to reuse the other side) , and each side gives me one full summer of use, which mean one single wear ring can be used for 2 summers...the only special care i take is to only power on the engine when i'm in at least 4 feet of water, and do not full throttle it until there is at least 6 feet or more of water, sand and rocks are you biggest enemies...and SCIC engine are real vacuum cleaners....so you want to keep them from sucking the bottom stuff...
