    Handlebar Pad (Replace or Remove?)

Hows it goin everyone??? Still werkin on my used (new to me) SL780 and have gotten her up and runnin. Now its time to get it up to speed as far as looks go.. The handlebar pad is cracked and just beat so Im tryin to decide whether to replace it or just remove it and go old school with the bare handlebar with a small dirtbike style pad. If I go this route does anyone have any suggestions on how / where to mount the display? Any help / ideas would be appreciated!!! Thanks!!!!

On my beatup SL700 ,I painted the bar pad with a plastic/interior paint from an auto parts store.Looks good from 5 feet away.I had it out for almost 3 months,no peeling yet,if it does another $5 will fix it.

Sorry I don't have anything closer. It's the blue pad.

Originally the pad had nearly no paint, some pretty deep cracks.
