Anyone else do back to back testing on this? I'm curious to know if anyone else can confirm speed loss as opposed to speed gain.

kerry has posted on this in the past - he sees a speed gain with it out - his skis typically run in the 82 to 92 mph range

if you do a search you might find the thread this was discussed

I removed it and I didn't notice any loss. I might have actually gained speed.

    Lightbulb ?????????

    Hey Guys...

I don't/can't see how You CAN gain speed by taking this cone off..??

Unless someone draws me a picture or puts up some fluid dynamic theory..?!!

I'm in the major sceptic camp..!! (or is that septic tank..?)

NOW:.. its widely acknowledged Mr Kerry is in the top 5% or better at making these things go fast..

Would it be beyond this mans remit to maybe......

    Tell all the want-to-be-fast-boys...

Hey pull that little aerodynamic bit off and throw it in the trash...

Hell maybe it slows you down by removing it..???

While all along his is in place and he's going like a ROCKET(man)..?

    Food for though..??

As always your Pal Mr Controversial..

    Gerry

Some people have seen gains from this mod but with my setup it was a loss..... It may have something to do with what grate you use or how much pitch you have,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

my guess is by removing it you create a disturbance with the water flow and the water flows more to the outer edges of the impeller blades

the outer edges of the impeller blades are travelling faster than the inner edges

I had several different size impeller comes made to see if by usng a larger diameter cone there would be a speed gain - there wasn't
