Yamaha 1200 XLT pain in the...

I would never change my RXT for anything! Specially not a 2-stroke. Tried starting it today and after about an hour of research on how to it correctly it finnaly cranked up. Took it out to a nearby lake (5 mins) and it turned on well.....but did not go over 2 mph!!! Needless to say I was pissed. I wanted to try it with the Shuttle Craft before my trip to the beach on Sunday....I NEVER GET A SUNDAY OFF! And now I have to see what is wrong with the thing! I think its the spark plugs so they are going out tomorrow or Friday. If not it could be bad fuel....or who knows what else!I posted on the Yamaha forum and got some good info. To bad the dealer is 6 hours away! I would have parked it in their lot first thing tomorrow

I mean, it's not like it's an old beat up ski.....it has 48 hours of use!

Took it to the mechanic and it was a $500 fix!

The 3 carburators were messed up for not turning it on in months! And the accelerator pump.

Yup....The guy at the dealer said he would pay for half the cost of repair. Or do it for free but I would have to drive the thing back to Hudson, Fl.....6 hours from here!

Took it out today, and while I would not change my RXT for it, I gotta say it ran pretty good. Not bad acceleration for only having 155hp. It seems to be real light cuz I can mess around with it spining out and stuff. The variable trim is a really nice feature. Too bad we don't have it in the RXT

Kinda bouncy in chop, it easily becomes unhooked

Still don't know if I'm gonna keep it I wish I lived in a house with water on the back, I could easily change skies to the shuttlecraft.

Nope. I had already changed skies and the RXT is inside the shuttlecraft. I wanted to change them to go with the boat but my pump in the RXT is out waiting for the prop so there is no way that comes out of there just by pushing and pulling. That is one heavy ass ski we have! This Yamaha is way lighter.
