    Tabs..????

    Hey Guys...

Getting round to modding my 05 13R..

Got Some trim tabs and Pumpshoe questions..!!

Ok from what i'm led to believe..

I want to ditch my 05 plastic tabs in favour of the 02 aluminum ones i have in hand,
Over the Riva extended ones which i also have in hand..!!!

Now should i fill the voids in the 02 tabs..?? (see pictures:....)
    With something like JB Weld..??
Is there any benefit from filling these voids in..???

    Moving onto the pumpshoe...

What exactly do i fill in on that..???
    Is it basically everything..???

I'm going to use a polyurethane sealant.. the type used to bond in windscreens..
A bit more expensive than silicon based stuff.. but hey its in to stay with this gear..!!

I have a spare pumpshoe in hand also..
Through i think it might be fucked due to some cracks i've just noticed..??

So any feedback or info gladly accepted

i'm not sure about the tabs but i know alot of people fill the pump shoe with silicone but i'm sure polyurethane words as well just as long as is stays in there. and you would fill in all the holes you have marked in the pics on your shoe including the blue but just make sure that there is not excess urethane sticking out. you can fix that by sanding it down. just try to get all the surfaces flat as possible to insure a good sealed fit. in the 3rd pic of the shoe...is there a crack at the inlet on the right? if it is you might not want to use that pump shoe.

Some people will waist a chitload of time trying to be thrifty, but if you insist on making your own PPK go for it.

Dont fill the trim tabs, not needed. You can fill the tab bolt holes, but only after you have dialed in the spacing from the hull (and then it will still change the handling a bit)

That crack is probably a casting flaw. I put up a post a while back about it. Sand it down real good and see if it goes away. The first 2 pics of the shoe are after I sanded the "crack".

Dont forget to fill the voids on the shoe side of the transom plate too.

Most of these are in the gallery on my website.
