I have not removed my wear ring since before Mudbug, when it was new...

Since then I have been using a plastic epoxy I got at home depot, its 2 parts and mixes beige...

After mixing, I apply with a thick zip tie, becuase I can get in between the blades with it (3 blade is easy, 4-blade is tough)....But I would still remove the prop...

I goop it in then smooth it out flush, worked great...

All the repairs I've done, the epoxy stays but new areas pitt out from debris...

I have 2 extra rings in the freezer, ready to go.....

I use the plastic epoxy instead of JB weld now because it gives a little better when the prop hits it...The JB stuff, unless PERFECT, will catch the blade and prevent it fro turning....

    I'll post some pics tonight...

Some of us are f*cked when it comes to stainless because they only make them for the supercharged skis.

The point of a wear ring is to WEAR...something has to give if it passes in there, and I'd rather have it be a chunk of replaceable plastic than a $350 prop...

A new wear ring is $60 by the time you get done with tax, shipping, etc...

    bad summer = 4 rings = $240

    or

couple of used rings from myself and friends = free
2-part plastic epoxy from home depot, lasts all summer = $4
about 5 minutes of time per ring = PRICELESS

I just saved $236...minus the beer.
