    Full/Empty tank speed difference?

Guys, what kind of gains do you lake/glass riders get on almost empty tank vs. a completely full tank?

Again, all I can do is look for a smooth patch of water behind the breakwater where I ski (Dana Point, CA.) for high speed runs. It was pretty nice on Sunday, and I hit 63 with a full tank before I had to back off; I know I had more in her but I was starting to hit swells and catching air.

Later in the day on the way back to the dock, I decided to hit it again but it was really windy so I had to back off again. However, the ski was FLYING; I could feel a noticeable difference.

I'm about to get a 5 mil winter suit that will let me get out on the water at 6-7 AM when the sun rises; I'm sure I'll have at least a mile of glass then.

    LB,
I usually see a few tenths diff between a full tank and 2 bars.

With the stock plate it was around 2mph. With the riva plate I think it is closer to 1mph. I never did get a good day to run to be sure, but it sure didn't seem like I picked up much speed as the gas was burned.

I was in Ky. this past wk and my buddy has two Ultra 250x's. One has 17hrs and the other has 32. The one with 32 has had the plugs replaced. We had my hand held gps and we saw that both skis wwhere running 64mph. I know these skis have some punch to them throughout the rpm range, but i did figure to see a few more mph from these skis. I have a 06 GPR and i know for a fact that these skis will take it over in chop, but not so sure on flat water. I am going to consider getting one next yr because i love how they feel when riding. Well just wanted to post some speeds that the 250x's i rode were doing.

I am not sure what rpms we were running, but we were neck and neck when we raced them. We were on Lake Barkley. We both grew up there and i have worked at numerios marinas there. I moved away after joining the navy and now live in VaBch. I miss riding the lake there. I used to tear it up on my old 96xp. I also know the Dream meter was off by about 7/8 mph. They were both on the low end compaired to the gps.
