    drive shaft diameters???

    important:
are the shaft diameters for the nwer RXT`s the same or different than the 04 GTX`s.

I know the prop splines are larger, I would like to know if the shaft is the same diameter where it passes thru the carbon seal Please...PR..

Does anyone have an RXT drive shaft out that could measure that area for me? appreciate it...PR...

Is it same diameter at the intake grate as it is where the seal is? If so, I can prolly reach under and measure it sitting on the trailer. Would this help?

I know that if the motor is a 155/185, the driveshaft is thinner than the 215 unit...

Danny, yes thinner at the prop splines area and where nose cone resides.

according to 3 parts catalogs: Riva, Babbitts, and BRP OEM
the 2004 GTX sc ski and the 2005 RXT share the same Carbon ring, supporting ring, C-clip, O-rings, and bellows... as the 2006 model RXT does not.
    2004 GTX, 2005 RXT: support ring - 272000176
    Carbon seal - 272000177
    C-clip - 272000175
    O-ring - 29300044
    Bellows - 272000183

can I safely assume that the 2005 RXT shaft diameter and the 04 GTX are the same in the area of the carbon ring?...PR...

You could give it a shot Larry, but I think the 07`s are different according to the parts microfiche/numbers...

I really thought someone in the know would have confirmed or denied this

Andy I do know that a 06 will not fit into your GTX. You must use a 05. I know this because I got a 06 for my GTX and it would not work. Had to exchange it for 05.
