My new Turbo Courtesy of Frank (Stickem)
After working on my last turbo project for a customer, I just received my personal turbo that I plan to install next week on my own boat!!
Frank Boyle (Stickem) on this forum made some changes that I am estatic about. ALL stainless steel flanges, pipes and perfect weld joints. He also now ceramic coats the exhaust "hot" housing for greatly reduced heat.
Here are some pictures of the turbo waiting to be installed. I already have our Rude fuel controller mapped out with this kit and works perfectly with our injectors for a 11.8-12.1:1 A/F ratio.
Turbo lag is virtually non-existant and the boat pulls like a freight train up to 8550 RPM's
Congrats Frank on producing an excellent turbo kit that is now available to the masses!!

Awesome! Are you setting up for acceleration or top end?

I remembered JD1's post about his turbo rxp running in the 96-97 range and he was set up for acceleration.

The turbo setup is not for everyone as it will require you to stay on top of things and for you to be MUCH more diligent regarding maintenance. The turbo needs time to idle after long runs to cool the housing and oil levels and pressure along with maximum boost pressures should be monitored.
For someone that is looking for the ultimate top speed/acceleration configuration, this kit is hard to beat. Installation is fairly straight-forward and if you use our Rude fuel controller/injectors along with the Rotax Racing or Riva ECU, the hard part has already been done.
On my personal boat, I am not running an aftermarket PCM as I wanted to retain the stock looking dash with full instrumentation. In this configuration, I will be running a maximum boost pressure of 20-22 PSI on 93 octane pump gas. For this turbo, this boost pressure is ideal as it is smack in the middle of its max efficiency. Max boost pressure is aprox 35 PSI but this is NOT recommended as your intake manifold would blow apart way before max boost is ever reached!!
The conditions that I ride in consists of choppy salt water and is not a smooth glass lake that others ride in. As such, I will prop the boat for maximum acceleration using a 81mm exit nozzle. Top end speeds when conditions permit should be around 85-86 MPH but the time to get there from idle should be in less than 5 seconds....
More to follow!!
