    Wet sanding the Gelcoat

I have a few minor scratches in the gelcoat and I also can't stand how much orange peel is in the gelcoat itself, has anyone here wet sanded their ski and repolished it before?

The GPR's are painted, so you should be OK color sanding and buffing.

you can do that but check on an inconspicuos spot before you do, because the mill thickness is what is important. Most gel-coat is thick enough to wet sand and polish.....Start with 1200 wet/drt and finish and then fish out with 3000 wet 3M 6 inch D/A.Then use a foam pad and polish with medium 3M perfect it 3000 compund. If you do that it will come out glass smooth and shiny as a fresh coat of wet clearcoat.

All the time. Its paint tho like Jeff said and not as thick as gelcoat.

Dang, you mean that it's just clear gelcoat with black paint ontop.

The top half is White gelcoat with black paint. The bottom is black gelcoat with black paint.

I've scratched both the top and bottom. The top shows white under the paint. The bottom shows a flat black under the paint.
