I had some carbs given to me earlier, a couple of those look as if they have been prepped and sandblasted..
One carb looks great, all passageways are clear, threads aren't messed up, etc..
How would one test if the carb really works before trusting it to an engine?

I would make sure all passsage ways are clear use some wd-40 and try and blow with compressed air through all the orfices with it. Then if all checks out, assemble with new carb kits and do a popoff test. I have a set that was just given to me that I will be checking out and assembling, sounds like they are in similar conditions.
