No one really knows what cam spec's would work best, and the ones that know aren't talking.

I've heard of big-bores, but not strokers. It's not that hard to bore one out or re-sleeve it, but getting a stroker crank would be tough since no one makes one that I know of.

Forget the stroker and forget the re-grind. NO extra room in the case even if u had the cheese it would take to forge a crank equal to the quality of this crank. When u re-grind u reduce the base circle of the cam, this is non-adjustable vavletrain and u would be hard pressed to get the rocker to valve pre-load correct.(the rockers have hyd. built-in) Now, the bore is another story as is altering rod/stroke ratio

How much over bore with these motors take? Anyone know the stock cylinder wall thickness?

PPG do a 1600cc kit don't they? Not sure on their reputation though.

    Has anyone got a 1600cc 4-tec?

The motors will handle a lot of HP, but there are so many easier ways to get speed, why go to all the trouble and expense of attempting a stroker?? With the right prop and nozzle, your current setup should put you at 75 mph already; your 14/19 at 8200 is holding you back, put on a 15/20, then pitch it for 8100- 8150. That will get you to 75 mph.

What is your goal speedwise? Adding a better SC wheel will get you 1+ mph, then there is the Riva Stg 3 setup to get you to 80 mph, or if you really want to go fast, go turbo. ALL of those are bolt ons ... far easier and far faster than a stroker setup.

A stroker makes no sense as stroking a motor drastically increases compression ratio. (Boring does too, but to a much lesser extent.) This is a bad idea with a forced induction setup. If you're trying for a fast NA ski, sure, try it if you can find high enough octane gas to make it work. A turbo/supercharged ski would be better off lowering compression to accomodate more boost without detonating.
