    ????'s about Riva Sponsons

    Okay,

    I installed the sponsons. Here's my ????s.

How are they supposed to bite more than the stockers when they don't even stick out as far?

Did I install it incorrectly or something?

I have these leftover sleeve looking things (10) that look to have a threaded hole with a hex head of some sorts. I read and reread the directions and couldn't figure out where (if at all) these things go?

    I have an 07 RXT.

Uh those hold the sponsons on the the ski!?? Did you install the thick plastic mounts to the studs first using the hex head threaded nuts? After you do that then you install the blade of the sponsons with the supplied phillips head screws.

Take alook here at riva's instructions, and illustrations, let us know how it goes! http://69.28.79.48/Instructions/rs26050.pdf

the blades catch the water as is thrown outward form the ski...thus your stability....when you turn, the blade dips into the water, allowing you to turn...

Hey fatty its you dont need those left over parts. I think riva sells those sponsons for more than one year or model. those are for a different install.

if all else fails duct tape works, and wont scrub speed.

I agree. I put them in the plates and the screws go through them to the OEM posts but are only able to get 3 or 4 turns of the screw on the OEM posts.

The plates are nice and locked down and flush with the hull and the blades are lock down and flush against the plates.

Don't take the studs out of the hull. They are used in mounting. You need to cut the silicone out around them and make sure they are are straight before installing the Riva backing plates.

I, fortunately, did not have to move my studs. They were all straight from the factory, SURPRISE! I did cut out the silicone and used Red loctite on the backing plates, and blue loctite on the screws that actually hold the sponsons on.
