Possible GSX 255 project.
So far I'm Just thinking about it & the warden hates the Idea so i'm at a terrible decision time here. Make it & live outside for a bit or forget it & wish I had..
Here's a few pics I took of the motor out of the hull with some measurements.
I'm not gonna pull the rxp motor just to see if it fits so if anyone has an rxp motor already pulled can you measure the length, width & height.
I like the 785 gsx hull over the 951 hull because the intake grate bolts through the hull & has a lip on the other end that fits into the the pump shoe for more support. The pump area can be made to support the rxp pump pretty easily too. But most of all I already have the hull too so it's less money.
The electric box would go away & the battery can be moved up front if need be to make room for the xs IC. The exhaust exit is ok where it is.
there's 14" between the rear motor mount bolts. There's 28" at the widest point in the middle of the hull just below the bond line & 23" wide above the line. Bottom center of hull to just below the top lip is 20" tall.
I might just have to buy an rxp motor & electrics/guage & sell my 06 & get the rxp x to have something to ride, or just keep the 06.

Wouldnt it be easier to just rub your magic finger all around the top side, pop the lid,and
FIRE THAT MUTHA UP LMAORIF
That would be a nimble little beast, and talk about quick

That opening is going to be tight. Gpr opening is 17" yours is 15" at best. I think if the intake manifold and exhaust manifold is removed it might just sqeeuk in there.

Joe's right...you're opening is going to be a major problem. Dropping my 1200 Polaris motor in there I have to turn it sideways and drop it in vertically to get it to fit when I have the engine cross bars on...Our top decks are the same so that may end up being you biggest snag...Will certainly require you to pull the intake and exhaust manifolds and install them in the hull...
I'm interested to see how it works though...STVDrag has shown us that these hulls can haul so it should be interesting...What you are considering is something I considered at one point but I had a perfectly good 1200 Polaris motor and a much cheaper route to get to the 240ish hp realm so I decided to go that route instead...
Also Joe, remember when you were asking me how different my hull was from the standard GSX (especially on the inside)? Take a look at his pics and the one's I'm attaching...Night and day...
