    does this look right?

    changed my oil filter and when i looked inside i saw what looked like broken metal. im not sure if it was there before and i forgot or if something broke recently and how? and where would those pieces be?

    i mean im not sure its even broken, just doesn't look right to me. look left and right of the threaded area. do all of them look this way?

    are you talking about where the paint came off where the bolt goes thru?...PR...

    yea sorry its hard to explain. but if u look all the way to the bottom where the bolt screws in. the left and right of it, its space down there, no paint chipped off and no oil down there. its just open space where u see black by the outside of the threaded area.

    gotcha now? wow I never really explored that, I`ll have to look at mine when I have the filter out. Kinda looks like it was casted that way, but the edges are to rough, isn`t that how the oil flows thru the filter from there?...hmmmmm...PR...

    I believe that goes directly to/from the oil pump...PR...

    It's normal. Mine looks exactly the same. I have talked to Vern and his is the same also.

    ok cool! thanks guys, just didn't look right to me so i wanted to check before i changed the oil!
