    Smile VX Impeller

    First I want to say thankx to everyone for all the great reading and lots of good info I have gotten from this forum. Its the best out there. OK enough of the mushy stuff. For you guys installing VX impellers in your GPR's and making custom drive shafts and other costly mods I have a suggestion. Buy an impeller from a 2006 and newer Yamaha 210 series boat. These impllers use the same drive shaft style as a GPR. The 210 boats have VX powerplants but use the same pump that we use in the GPR but are pitched simular to a VX110. Hope this helps.

    Solas has the recommended impeller for the 05 SX & AR230 HO as a YG-DF-14/20 is there something different in the 06 and up model boats? do you know what the actual pitch is for the oem impellers?

    In 2006 Yamaha came out with a 21 foot boat that uses two VX110 engines. The AR & SX 210. The SX & AR 230 that is listed by Solas is powered by two MR1 HO engines. The pitch on the 210 impellers are 16-25 port and 17-26 starboard.

    I would think the 16/25 de-pitched to somewhere around 15/22 would show some promise on some of the high hp ski's.Personally I would'nt care for it,if it slowed mid to upper excelleration down though,which is a weakness the vx prop is showing.Its still early in the large pitch game though,givin some time I believe this tendency can be overcome.I do like the large root angle though well at least to a certain degree

    The thread pitch on the driveshafts are the same. The boat uses the same drive shaft as the FX HO and the FX HO and GPR use the same YG-DF-14/20 impeller.

    I was spinning a box stock 18/24 VX110 impeller 7170 on the weekend - so I don't think any depitching would be required on the 16/25.

    I have looked and no one offers any aftermarket ones. If the OEM is anything like my OEM gpr impeller the finish was horrible, still had all the casting flaws in the blade. hopefully these are nicer
