First Ride On 97 Since Labor Day
I finally got the double trailer finished and had both ski's on the trailer and rode both of them yesterday. The temp was 85 with low humidity, but strong crosswinds. I filled in the gaps between the intake grate & ride plate and the hull and ride plate. With the angle I have on the plate the gap is bigger and my thinking was water could be rolling off the beveled edge of the hull and catching on the squared edge of the plate. I was hoping to cure the problem I have with the rear of the ski dropping and raising back up. The result was it still does this. I am going to put a small washer under the rear bolts of the plate to see if this cures the problem. I am thinking I have just a tad too much angle.
I had 7.5 gallons in the ski and every run was over 68 without the ride plate holes filled. The best run was 68.6 and by this time I am guessing I had 5-6 gallons of fuel. I never hit the buzzer. More testing to come in the next week or so because I am home alone (wife & baby visiting in Alabama).
