    Is GTX Limited GPS covered by warrenty?????

    My GPS unit got wet when one of the buttons fell off and water got inside of it. I was wondering if this should be a warrented item from SEA-DOO??

    BRP NORTH AMERICA LIMITED WARRANTY: 2007
    SEA-DOO® PERSONAL WATERCRAFT
    1. SCOPE
    Bombardier Recreational Products Inc. (“BRP”)* warrants its model-year 2007
    Sea-Doo personal watercraft from defects in material or workmanship for the
    period and under the conditions described below.
    All genuine BRP parts and accessories, installed by an authorized BRP dealer (as
    hereinafter defined) at the time of delivery of the Sea-Doo personal watercraft,
    carry the same warranty as that of the personal watercraft.
    A GPS receiver may be supplied by BRP as standard equipment on certain 2007
    Sea-Doo personal watercraft. The GPS receiver is covered by the limited warranty
    issued by the GPS receiver’s manufacturer and is not covered by this limited
    warranty.
    Use of the product for racing or any other competitive activity, at any point, even
    by a prior owner, will render this warranty null and void.

    I guess I should look at the owners manual before asking stupid questions. I know there are good people out there looking out for the rest of us.

    i've never tried it but do these garmins or germins float ?

    Annette's GPS lost a button, we took it to the dealer, they sent it to Garmin, Garmin sent us a new unit... it was easy and painless

    I have the same unit as well as 2 automotive GPS units.

    I can tell you that Garmin is absolutely top notch in the Cust. Svc. department.

    I'd suggest you contact them by phone instead of emails. They are not real swift in responding timely to emails, but if you can wait out the phone hold time, that is the best way to get them.

    Thanks for the replys everyone. I did just that yesterday. I looked up the phone # in the Owners Manual, gave them a call, made a claim, took it to the Shipping Co. by my house and it is on its way to Kansas..
