Well. It keeps us from having to change belts. It makes it easier for Yamaha to engineer; no brackets. The supercharger is rumored to have a 1-way sprag clutch in it. Overall size of that will be a bit larger than the Doo clutch. I also read the SHO blower spins at a much higher RPM. Guy at Surdyke Yamaha relayed to me that HKS had a big part in designing the blower.

HKS Hopefully HKS will make some after market parts for the SHO.

Jerry said the sprag was much better than the SeaDoo clutch type. Does anyone know exactly how the sprag works and what kind of maintenance is needed on it?

If the supercharger on the SHO is spining much faster than the ultra is it going the be that easy to spin it up for more boost with out hurting the supercharger.I wondering if getting more than the 5 lbs of boost is going the be that easy?

Probably not unless you go to a larger or different pitched SC wheel.

Mu guess is it will be similar to an over-running, roller type sprag like used in a transmission.

    Diagram on right:

This blower will turn out the same as the RXP/T blower. I hope somebody (RIVA) will get new wheels set up!!!
