When is a head not reusable even with work?

Check out this head I toasted. I would think it is done for and I was going to take it to the metal yard tomorrow along with the crankcasings, broken rod, and piston.

Look on SBT's website they buy back the casings cranks and other stuff. Might be able to a make a coulpe of bucks more than the salvage yd.

SBT will give you $10.00 for it. I have emailed them many time asking for prices and they always say they have an abundance of whatever I have so it isnt worth anything. I just sold them 3 props @ $10 ea, 2 core cranks @ $40 ea, and 1 900 Kawi head @ $10. I didnt make much, but I got a bunch of junk out of my way.

You just send them an email with your address, and they send you a shipping label. You box it up, ship it to them, and when they get it they will mail you a check. It is VERY painless and they get the check to you pronto. I WILL be selling them cores again.

    They pay the shipping.

You could get the squish welded and then the head remachined.

    Fantastic!

Now the question. Would they consider my crank a core if the it broke at the #1 journal. Bearings, rods, etc are fine.
