Thread: Riva plate without wedge.

Riva plate without wedge.
I have been running without the wedge for a few weeks. It seems that in my case it was worth about 1 mph. 69.6 is as fast as it will go. I did notice some difference in the rough (for the better) Anyone else been running the Riva plate without the 2 degree wedge?

I took mine off after one time out. I hated the ride with the wedge. It made the rough water handling much more tolerable without the wedge but I still prefer the stock plate w/ wedge ride in the rough.
I have something new to try when I get a chance

I only ride on lake in mostly smooth water. Does the wedge give you any more top end with the riva plate or is it faster without the plate? I have sent my plate to Jim to see if he can get anymore out of it.

In my case, it was worth about 1 mph. I ran for a long time with the wedge and Riva plate but I like the ride better without the wedge.

I also have been using the wedge/plate combo for some time and after reading this I think I may go yank the wedge right now and maybe get a little bit more speed on my more than likely last ride of the season b4 I put her in storage.....Hope to see the same improvement you did

Damn that's quick.
How fast do you go without the R&D intake grate? (it's supposed to scrub off speed) I noticed that you have the R&D intercooler kit. How did you get one before it goes on sale to eveyone else????

I'm with ES.
Show us some pics.
I was just curious as to how you got 71 mph using an intake grate that has usually cost speed for everyone else. I'd love to see some pics of your intercooler mods. In your part of the world, I can see how upgrading your intercooler would be very benificial.
