    Arrow Polaris EX2100 21 foot jet boat

    I had no idea Polaris managed to produce (well, with some help) such a large boat before they dropped out.

    I guess I missed the memo
    Matter of fact, I may have missed this whole 2004 Watercraft section of the Polaris web site.

    EX2100 Sport Boat, by ROBRADY Design
    Apparently, they also did the MSX design

    Team effort: Polaris assembles a mighty jet boat, with a little help from friends;
    "When Polaris jumped into the jet boat market in 2003, the company produced its initial boat in record time. Part of the reason, of course, is that the Minnesota-based manufacturer had help. Rather than tackle the entire project in house, Polaris turned to two of the biggest names in the boat-building business, Baja and Mercury, with Baja handling the hull-building duties, and Mercury providing the engines, Bing, bang, boom, Polaris was in the jet boat business--and with a pedigree to boast of..."

    Was there anything technically interesting about this big Polaris?

    I can imagine there would be quite a bit of orphan ownership pain

    You have to remember Robrady snagged a certain high level Polaris watercraft manager for themselves. Polaris and Baja then had one thing in common, Robrady design.

    There is one on the lake I ride on. First time I saw it I followed it around for like 10 minutes trying to read the side of it. I couldn't belive it was a Polaris boat. It is out almost every weekend in the summer, so the family that has it must like it.

    There's one here in TX that's been popping up on CL for the past year or so. Looks fun.

    240 hp, 2.5 liter V6 Mercury - is that the 2-stroke EFI engine?

    I recall they used two different Mercury engines, with similar sounding engine names. One was Direct Fuel Injection (but not Ficht), the other EFI fuel injection, as I recall.

    Asking over $12K - wonder what it will actually sell for...

    I had a nice PDF of this thing up yesterday but my history is deleted and I cannot locate it.I do recall however that the 240hp is EFI and the 250hp is DFI.Top speed is about 48-49mph.

    Some poking around the interweb reveals this;

    The 250HP Mercury Optimax 3 liter V6 engine uses the Orbital Direct Injection system (2-stroke with direct fuel injection, but different from the Ficht fuel injection). California 2006 Low Emissions Two Star rated (even better than the One Star rating on the last few model years of Polaris Ficht fuel injected PWC). Also oil injected for 2-stroke lubrication.

    Sea-Doo used the same or very similar Optimax 250 engine in their jet boats for a few model years.

    The 240 EFI V6 2.5 liter M2 engine I think is just regular throttle body fuel injection, not direct fuel injection into the cylinder.

    Of the two, the 250 seems to be the engine to have. Stronger, cleaner, more fuel efficient.
