Has anyone had proplems when blocking off BOV, Can the stock one be tightened down to give the same result?

I tightened mine. If you are getting full boost I would not mess with it.

Thanks for the reply. I'm a bit worried as I left my BOV on the bench, came back to find some helpful person had been playing with the adjustment now I have no idea where I am with it. So what I have done is screwed it down tight then backed it off a few turns, There does seem to be alot of pressure on it, and this does concern me. Need some help cheers.

    Fussy1,

Overtightening has made it worse according to some here. If you would like it tested/calibrated you can send it to me. My equipment is very sensitive and accurate.

According to the service manual, it it supposed to be 26.8 PSI...I think that is incorrect, and should be ~12psi

Thanks would like to send it to you,but as I live in New Zealand the post time etc would be a bit of a pain. Why would tightening down hard make it worst? any ideas on that. Cheers

I wonder how many glued the locknut back after tightening. Unless the spring breaks I do not see how overtightening could make it worse. It is nothing more than a plunger held close by a spring.

so why bother with the BOV if you can just block it off? Couldnt it be justified as a repair necessary to mitigate the defective BOV (if warr is a concern)? If you block off the BOV, any special rules to follow?

Use one of the plates from R-Rated or R&D. Also be sure to keep a check on the vac line that runs from the relief valve to the manifold. The relief valve will be your only protection from overboost if you block the bov.
