    Gutting the waterbox

Has anyone gutted the waterbox completely? Would it cause too much loss of back pressure or would it just fill with water?

I didnt gut mine completely, but instead of drilling the three holes I plasma cut a large hole. Went run yesterday and i am seeing the lowest exhaust temps. ever and hearing the best sound ever .

don't gut it completely!! i'm already seeing that my waterbox gets LOADED with gallons of water at idle... u definitely lose the pressure to evacuate the waterbox at low rpms... but it sounds F'n WICKED awesome!!!

Do you have the yellow or red reducer disc in there?

Prolly wouldn't matter ... it's still gonna fill up, just may not fill up as fost or quicker, depending on which disc you use.

Couldn't you just completely eliminate it? Boosted engines like free flowing exhaust. The low end will suffer slightly, but with the right prop, that would be negligable.

FLyer had a good point I really dont see a point in the waterbox besides as a muffler....if you remove it and just run a stright pipe from the Jpipe to the exhaust exit I would think you would gain some serious RPMS! and if you thought it was too loud just tap anouther hole in the stright pipe you put in there and have the hose that filled the water box dump water into the pipe (too cool it and wuite it down)....and you would loose about 20 pounds at idle to help your hole shot....
