Blocking off TOPS and idle control solenoid
This post may help future owners of the Rotax Racing EMS system.
When going to this setup you must block off the TOPS valve and also modify the idle servo on the top of the throttle body. You cant just plug it off as you will idle at nearly 3000 RPM's.
I dismantled mine by hacking off the top of it with my sawzall. Then i filled in the void with JB Weld. I know, very cheesy, but its working well until Nils can build me a billet one
The rod is threaded and a M4 size nut fits onto it. I used a nylock nut pressed into the JB Weld for the rod to thread in and out of and on the top i used a wing nut tightened up against a regular nut to use as a handle to adjust the idle.
This cheesy JB weld mod allows me to idle at a perfect 1800 RPM's

I was in the 2400 range, I adjusted the throttle stop screw, I now have to hold it open a little need to adjust back a touch

How Is TOPS switch mounted
2010 RXT-X260 - I just replaced my SC and now get a P1505, "TOPS switch fault non plausible state", on my CANDOO.
I think I've found the switch but the only way I see to mount it is horzontal. I think it wants to be verticle. I have the manual but don't find the switch mounting anywhere.
Can anyone help?
I went to the dealer and looked at a 2012. I see BRP moved the air box up front. Too bad they stayed with 3" pipe.
Anyway I saw that the switch is mounted under the blowby valve. Once I found the blowby valve in the manual I found the TOPs switch. Didn' expect it to be under "librication". No more faults. can't wait to get it in the water.
