    Stock Intercooler Removal

Does anyone actually unbolt the intake manafold to remove the stock intercooler? I just pulled and twisted a little and it came right out; before I read the instructions. I dont guess I messed anything up.

I did not either, however, my rear rubber gasket pulled off the stock intercooler and fell into the intake manifold. It was not difficult to fish it out, but just something to remember that you need to make sure you get both rubber gaskets out and don't leave one in the intake manifold.

I had a little trobule getting mine out but knowing it wasn't gonna be used again I took a good size phillips screwdriver and stuck in th outlets and turned it. Once the rotation started it came out like a hot knife going thru butter

    Thanks Vern,
I guess that the rear gasket is still in the intake because it didnt come out with the cooler. It's a good thing I havent put the plug in yet!

Yup, there should be a rubber gasket on each end of the stock IC. Been awhile, but I think you may need to borrow someone with small hands to reach in there and find it ... easy to do then tho.

Doh! Breon, I gotta think you are all set ... I can't imagine your ski would run good for a couple months with that getting blasted around the intake manifold ... with the boost we run, I would expect that thing would blow all around the intake manifold and cause the ski to run funny if it was in there. If your ski runs great, I imagine both your gaskets are still stuck on the stock intercooler ... I hope!
