RXP Stage 1 - Impeller Problems with the 14/19 - SOLVED!!!
When I finished breaking my ski in I was turning 8140-8160 RPM's at 69.4MPH and 69.5MPH GPS.
I now have a Riva Stage 1 on my ski plus Riva sponsons, Riva Pro Block-Offs and Riva through-hull exhaust. A friend gave me his 14/19 impeller to put on my ski which I sent it to get trued and fixed as it had a couple of dings on it.
After installing the 14/19 I'm now turning between 7860 and 7960 RPM's at 70.0 to 70.2MPH GPS. I decreased the pitch by 1mm on the trailing edge and it didn't seem to help any.
Today I put the stock impeller back on and now I'm GPSing at 71.3 and the RPM's are at 8140...consistantly with 1/3 tank of gas.
Any suggestions? At this point I'm thinking of leaving the stock impeller on since I'm getting better results, but the accelleration sucks with the stock impeller. I would really like to resolve this issue with the 14/19.
Any advice is appreciated.

Have your friends impeller pitch rechecked with a Watcon guage for accuracy.
Buy a new box stock one.

Pull another mm out of it and see what it does. Make sure the measurements of all the blades line up.

Rafi.... u ran the stock prop with the black stock cone right?
have you run the SOLAS yet with the black stock nose cone or with the green cone siliconed on? ....
i'm about to put my stock prop back on mine... my acceleration blows tho even with the SOLAS i have now

No telling what happened with that impeller when it was pitched/trued.
An out the box 14/19R would probably give you the results you are looking for.

living up north and having cooler temps 1/2 the season, Id put a 15/20 Solas in it. You know your gonna add more parts later in the season and then you'll have 1 less thing to buy cough cough... stageII

Went to Howard's house (rab1) and he put his 'touch' on the impeller and WOW
Installed it, went to the bay and now my RPM's are 8140/8160 with some spikes at 8180, and speeds are a consistant 71.8/71.9! Accelleration is also MUCH better than with the stock impeller. This was with 3 bars of gas.
Water temps were 65 degrees, windy and a 2-3 inch chop.
Learned a lot about impeller repitching.

excellent speeds rafi! i gotta get my boat tuned in too. my best gps # is when we came down last friday and brendan hit 70.8 with a full tank on my ski. i finally got my air intake finalized and im gonna throw on the 82mm venturi. i think the 81mm is a waste at my level of mods. but its really usefull for tuning with the weather/climate. i still have to get this porpoising under control cause its freakin rediculous. mayb some pro style block offs and some skegs will help ? still gotta fill grate and ride plate holes..did you fill yours yet?

I filled in the ride plate holes with marine epoxy. Let me know when you guys want to ride again!
