Me thinks some one has put a motorcycle engine in the smart car, ala Disney's Light Motors Action, stunt show.

end of story shut the hell up..
excuse me but this shit pisses me off cuz there is no way in hell that piece of shit like that could beat a ferrari...that was ONLY 400M....
i wana see a rematch on a real course, then you can tell me what u think

The curb weight of that small car is 1,631 lbs
The HP of that motor I think is 160.
Add a 75 shot you have 235 HP. It might have a little more because of exhaust, intake, or other motor work in general.
Now the F430 weighs 3,197 lbs
Has 483 HP
So lets do the math! The power to weight in both cars are pretty close. But I would give the edge in a drag race to the Smart Car because of weight. Now from 0-top speed the Ferrari will take it. It isn't bullshit though it is just FACT!

the video was just meant for comparison sake to show what the modded smart car could run against. hell my mustang could take both of those cars after given both a 3-4 second head start but as you say in a real race, the ferrari would win, why? because each vehicle was built for a specific puprose... the smart car was built to show how much power they could wedge into the smart car... my mustang was built to go fast in a straight line not handle around a road course.
it would be like comparing a top end boat to a closed course set-up boat built for a specific purpose.... top end guys care little about handling while closed guys are all about bottom end grunt and handling
so in essence it is not the end of the story and i refuse to shut the hell up.
oh and your precious ferrari was stomped in the 1/4 mile by a ford Gt by a little over a half a second..... you would think a car that is 250 pounds lighter would be quicker in the 1/4 mile....

great video! Pretty funny, I bet that short wheelbase can get a little scary sometimes.
The ferrari is a sweet ride, don't get me wrong, but like the guys said, there are plenty of cars that could spank it everywhere for about half the money.

I agree with what you guys are saying about other cars being faster than the ferrari.. I am not even a big ferrari fan.. However.. Fit and finish along with quality control is WAY more supperior to the "Cheaper faster" sports cars..
If I had the $$ I would prefer an SLR over a Ferrari anyways..
Back to the smart car vid.. I would love to see that thing try to keep up with the Ferrari on the corners... It would be funny to watch...

I am in Porsche mode right now. If I had the money right now I would go out and buy a GT2. Then again tomorrow might be a hey lets get a new Z06 day and mod it.
Oh for the record, I have raced some F360s. One spider, one coupe, one stradale (sp?). The spider and coupe I walked pretty good from a slow roll on the freeway. Stradale and me were neck and neck from about the same conditions, I might have had a nose. This was in the Z06..... not the Trans Am. The Trans Am would have put some MAJOR HURT on those cars.
