I am a newbie when it comes to yamis! What is the best hull setup for 85+ mph?? I am looking for top speed! Will a stock pump be able to handle that???

It all comes down to personal preference. I modified a R&D 1300 rideplate and got very good results. R&D 800 intake grate and NO trim tabs. I mostly ride semi-smooth to smooth water, so this setup is for best for me.

    BUT, i'm not running 85,....YET.

Just so you are fully informed, you ain't going to hit 85+ mph with ease. In fact, the people who are doing so can probably be counted on one hand. So be prepared to shell out a ton of money to one of the capable tuners (Kerry, Ben, etc.) or hop on a very steep learning curve and spend a lot of time working with your ski. Contrary to popular belief, not everyone has an 80 mph ski. That said, it can be done and this is a great place to learn how!

you will have a hard time getting to 85 mph but this is the place to do it. I'm at 75 after about 2K and a newer pump/prop setup.

Ahh, well your first post said nothing about a conversion ski. So I assumed you had a Yami-based engine. Let us know how the project goes!
