What have you lost under the 4tec engine?
There is a monster under all 4-tec engines that will eat anything you drop down there.
Here's what I have lost:
Lead battery nut
slotted and Philips screwdriver included in tool kit
10m socket (eventually found near bailers)

pulling my engine out after it blew up onetime.... hull was full of oil and i just didn't care so i was tearing everything off the motor.. coolant lines off without draining the system, just let it all fill into the hull and made a mess.... my phone rings, like an idiot i answer it with my hands all messy and in the middle of doing something.. i'm holding the phone against my ear with my shoulder and blooop.... there went my 2 month old PDA phone into a few quarts of oil and antifreeze. That was no fun

8mm socket, 5mm allen wrench, 5/16 wrench and a fair amount of skin from my left thumb. Finally picked up one of the extending magnets to retrieve those items instead of running all that fiberglass that seems to be sticking straight up into my hands looking for the lost items(minus the skin from the thumb of course).

You said a cotton-pickin mouthful there!
As far as keeping the bottom of the ski clean, stick one of these under there during times of storage, and it will suck up all oil/gas products and not absorb water. Very helpful in cleaning the oil out.
