Exclamation Water Under Seat And Onto Engine!!!!

    G'day,

I am new to this post and just had a quick question about my recently purchased RXT.

After I return home from my ride, I take the seat off to find white splashes on the engine which of cause is salt from water getting in to the engine bay.

For such expensive machines you would think that the bay would be sealed from water getting in and protecting it from rust etc.

My question is this normal, do all of the newer seadoos have this or is there suppose to be a seal to stop this happening?? Is there something I can add to stop the water getting in?

    ANy help would be appreciated.

Yep, a little water will get in usually. That is completely normal. That's why it's recommended to wipe then engine and spray the engine down with seadoo spray or something after each ride.

I spray my engine compartment with Salt Away after I ride. Everyone on the forum assures me it's ok to do, despite the counter-intuitive feeling I get when I do it. But it has to be better than leaving the salt residue in there! The spots could also be water hitting your battery and washing off any corrosion from the posts and redepositing it elsewhere.

I spray the entire engine compartment and flush the exhaust with Salt away.
