    Pump tunnel pressure gauge

Advance Auto parts has sale this week on sunpro oil pressure gauges 9.88 which fits nicely and matches up well to 2005 black cowling.

I purchased one and installed it for a pump tunnel pressure gauge and ran the 1/8 plastic hose in through my pipe where my bilge syphon hose was and through the hose to top of engine compartment.

I tapped into 2 inch ext with 1/8 npt fitting, and when finished, used silicon to seal the syphon pipe and used short piece of hose to cover plastic line.

I did buy black 1/8 plastic hose like used on truck brake lines, because its stronger then whats supplied with oil pressure gauge.

30 mins install time and about 13.00 cost.

I am a gluton for information... so far have added... egt, tach, pump pressure, gps, photon torpedo velocity sensor None of which make me go faster, but I just like knowing whats going on....

    Great post David!!

Tell me more about the black nylon hose. Where do you get it from? All I have found was the semi clear stuff that is fragile. It did however fit in the speedo wire gromit perfectly.

If your not bleeding off any pressure your going to be suprised at the readings.

Thanks Duke... reading about your set up helped a lot!

Its same diameter as the clear flimsy stuff, but anywhere that services or sells big truck parts should carry it. They use it on air brake lines.
If you cant find it locally, send me a pm and I can get it for you.

My pressure was pretty low (38-40 psi) as I was bleeding it EVERYWHERE :P No ppk and no seal kit... One thing, I didnt notice any bouncing in the gauge others commented on having.

Duke, just go to any truck repair place and tell them you want DOT nylon air brake tubing. I keep it here and can send you some the next time I send you something if you want.
