    Angry Ski Killing Its Self

okay I took my 96 Waveraider 1100 to OK for a weekend trip and I was out riding for about 45min and then I went back to the cabin and I went back out about 30 min later and rode for 10 and it died on me it wouldnt start back up after floating towards shore for about 7 min I hoped back on and gacve it full throttle and held the start button down for a little bit and it started and ran for 30 sec and did it all over again

any ideas as to whats going on??? I just put a new battery in before I went and I filled it up with gas, but is has me stumped and I need to get it fixed asap

Do a compression test to see if it seized.........

    Question ??????

    Hey There Jsc7002.

    Unfortunately It could be seized...

The thing with these two strokes are...
They can seize then cool down.. unseize then start again only to seize again..

This seizing process can happen many many times over..!! and it may only take a half second to unseize..!

Every time this happens there's the possibility that some piston/cylinder wear/damage can occur..

Thats why Scott suggested the compression check...

Got to agree with him as you first round of investigations..

If the compression turns out good..
The guys on here can recommend you're next course of action..

    Good Luck with it..

    Gerry

If you seized on the water it will still fire back up.
If it was a bad one then you would only run about 40-45mph on 2 cylinders.
If you check and there good then you know that the motor is sound then look elswhere.
Check the battery as well you just put that in.
If your comp and battery are good then check spark at all 3 plugs then its the fuel system.
comp test takes 5 min and well worth it.
    Scott........
