Can you crank the engine without the pump installed

I have already pulled off my pump, but i want to add fogging oil in the injector ports. Is it bad to crank the engine (in fuel starve) without the pump on. I do not know if that would mess up the through hull seal or not. Thanks guys!

No, the pump must be in place. Otherwise your driveshaft will be flopping all over the place.

just get someone to go back there and let it rest on their hand somewhat center while you crank it so it's not flopping all over the place in a big radius.. it doesnt spin all that fast so it's not going to hurt anyone to just hold the driveshaft by hand while you crank it

or just forget about the fogging oil in the injector ports all together... nothing bad will happen from not doing it
