Intake grate failure; does it affect Riva units?

As the title states; has anyone found failure in the RIVA 1200 Top Loader intake grate. Visually they seem very similar to the R&D grate.

    Regards,
    jp

the quality and fit of my riva 1200 is much better then the r&d 800 I had to do a LOT of grinding on my r&d grate for it to fit properly. Speed difference was only .8 slower with riva 1200
Havent broken either, but have only had them less then a month

I believe the Riva and R&D grates are one in the same.

How is it RIVA has a lower failure rate? Maybe it's due to lower sales #s??

Riva and R&D 1200 grates are the same. only difference was the logo and the paint on the Riva units.

My single bar broke last year. I think they are all prone to break. It's just a later of time.

The 800 grates don't ever fit as well as the 1200 grates. It takes a lot more time to get an 800 grate to match the shoe compared to the 1200.

i thought it was just me.. my R&D 800 was alot easier to modify then my 1200 riva. maybe the 1200 has a heavier/better cast
