All of the 1300 heads are the same I believe. The 05 head gasket is different than the 03-04's, and is supposed to allow for more cooling.

No, no such thing as a dumb question. I am just trying to think of what the difference would be.

    Lightbulb Hmmmmmm...???

Maybe the cooling holes and the flow through channels..???

The compression is definately different too...

    The 03 - 04 is #1 = 5.9/1,. #2 = 5.9/1,. #3 = 5.7/1,.

    The 05 - 07 is #1 = 6.0/1,. #2 = 6.0/1,. #3 = 6.0/1,.

The 08 is 5.9/1 across the board..???? wonder why..???

Non PV head has more compression I believe. Also one can be milled more then the other achieving higher compression. WFO or Jim would know for sure.

    Question ?????????

    Gents..

The compression bump helped a tiny bit on the 05's and up..

But the power still went down to 160hp..

EDIT:. the reason was the loss of the P/V's so the exhaust port was a balance of valves up and valves down

The extra 10hp came from the use of a far more efficient front(first) stinger pipe section...
This would be a good upgrade for all GPR's up to 04.!? IMO..(disclaimer)
