After Market IC with stock exhaust

Everything I read says you need to go aftermarket exhaust with an IC upgrade. Im in the process of a Stage1 and Id like to make it a 1.5 with the addition of an Intercooler but I want to keep the stock exhaust, any input?

    Thanks

    Stan

If you want to keep just the stock exhaust outlet you can fab a bracket to hold the XS style intercooler vertically, but you must remove the resonator. If you want to keep the complete stock exhaust system you'll have to find pictures of sleeplessnms' XS intercooler setup on his RXP!

There is a way to do it, just need to be good with your hands and tools....I'm trying to put an XS in to my father's GTX while keeping the resonator there...

I have RR intercooler on my RXT with all stock exhaust pieces except for the big rubber hose from waterbox to resonator. It was time consuming, fab'd all IC tubing and exhaust from stainless but it was worth it to me to keep it quiet.

I thought I did, must have deleted them off the card before copying them to the PC. I'll try to get a couple for you tomorrow.

more air flow thru IC, more thru engine, more needed thru exhaust. At least that's how it works with my boosted car.

More back pressure, more risk of deto, right?
