    785 CDI in a 780 box?

I can get it to fit. It's tight. You folks that have done this, how did you
secure it in the box? 650 box would be the same.
    Thanks.

I mounted mine sideways and drilled two holes thru the box and siliconed them.

Thanks Steve. Did ya use a nut to secure the bolt in the case then nut the cdi? Also do you suggest a marine sealant or just plain silicone?

Its the same as in the pic. I was thinking of having the mounting ears down in stead of up as in the pic.I just had to grind a lil off the right ear to clear the circuit breaker. That will allow more clearance from the bolts and wires on the other side when put back together The cdi doesn't appear to be secured in the pic.

I had mine mounted 90 degrees from how you have yours and I used some spacers and longer allens and mounted it to the coil bracket and the threaded hole on the back of the box I also used a 95 + sl 750 box

To mount yours to the coil bracket boss, did you also move the starter relay? I can't see mine fitting that way w/o doing so.
