    New type of Ebay Fraud?

I've noticed over the years that SeaDoos appear to attract a lot of fraudulant listings on Ebay. It seems like there have been dozens of scams trying to sell nearly new watercraft for $2900.

This listing takes a different approach:

    http://cfgi-ebry.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...0PHT&main=pas2

When you click on the auction it briefly shows a page that indicates that the seller is brand new and has no feedback. That page only lasts about a second before the screen does a refresh and now it appears that the seller is in good standing with several hundred successful auctions.

I've never seen that before. Is this something new or has this scam been happening for awhile?

    Wow, that's strange.....

When I click the link in my own post above it never shows the listing with the Zero Feedback Seller - it just shows the page with the seller with 901 feedback listings.

But when I search Ebay for an RXP and click on the ad for the '06 Black and Red it acts as I described in my initial thread.

It still looks fraudulent to me but I'd be curious to hear what everyone else thinks.

The link in your post goes to the domain ebry.com, not even a valid ebay link

I didn't even notice that until you pointed it out. It's definitely a SCAM.

They must have input some type of script into their original Ebay ad that sends the browser to the fake page. Maybe this type of scam has been around for awhile, but I've never seen it before.

For those that may want to see the scam with your own eyes, just enter the following item number in Ebay's search box: 220173434765

The real ad will appear for about a second before the page is refreshed with the SCAM ad.

I guess it's just one more SCAM that we'll need to watch out for.

what's so bad about that one is that you have to log into your e-bay account if you hit buy-it-now and they now have your account name and password. There's no telling how many accounts they will be able to hijack after this. I reported it to e-bay so if you want to look, do it quick. If you clicked on buy it now and logged in, change your password right NOW!

    Scam Scam Scam
you can enter any name and password that you dream up and it will accept it because they are doing nothing other than gathering ebay user names and passwords.
